You Don’t Have to Do It All Alone

There’s a particular kind of woman who knows how to handle things

She’s capable, resourceful, independent. She figures it out, gets it done, and doesn’t need anyone to hold her hand. She’s probably the person everyone else turns to when things go sideways.

But what happens when being the one who can handle everything starts to feel less like freedom and more like a job you can never clock out of?

In the latest episode of The Goddess Rites with Alexandria Kenyon, I explore what it means to be a fiercely independent woman learning to receive support, reconnect with her intuition, and make more room for joy.

We talk about the difference between being self-sufficient and being so accustomed to doing everything yourself that receiving becomes uncomfortable. About how to let people in without giving up your autonomy. And about the possibility that being powerful doesn’t have to mean being alone.

You don't have to turn pain into your identity

In this episode, I also share parts of my own journey through clairvoyant training, grief, and family loss, and how those experiences shaped my understanding of growth and healing.

One of the things I believe deeply is that suffering isn't a prerequisite for wisdom.

We can learn from difficult experiences without making pain the center of who we are. We can acknowledge what we've been through and still allow ourselves to move toward pleasure, playfulness, and possibility.

That matters when you're used to being the strong one. Sometimes, even after circumstances change, the identity of the person who can handle everything stays firmly in place.

You can keep honoring your resilience while discovering other parts of yourself - the part that wants to rest, the part that wants to be cared for, the part that wants to do something simply because it's fun.

You don't have to earn those parts of your life by first "working through" every last thing.

A conversation about having more room to be yourself

Midwifing Interdependence is a conversation about the beautiful tension between autonomy and connection, strength and softness, growth and enjoyment.

There's no need to choose between trusting yourself and letting other people in. You don't have to keep proving that you're capable by doing everything alone. And you don't have to turn your personal growth into another performance review.

Sometimes, what helps is simply learning how to receive, listen to yourself, and let life be a little bigger than the responsibilities you've been carrying.

Listen to Midwifing Interdependence on The Goddess Rites with Alexandria Kenyon, and join us for a conversation about independence, intuition, grief, and the freedom to have more room for life.

Content note: We briefly touch on suicide loss in this episode. If this is close to home for you, please take care of yourself as you listen.

And if you’re the woman who’s used to figuring everything out, holding it all together, and being the one everyone else can count on, learning to receive might be your next edge.

My Learn to Receive healing activation is an invitation to expand your capacity to have more of what you want - without guilt, over-explaining, or making yourself smaller to keep everyone else comfortable.
